Architectural design
What distinguishes the houses of animals and people? People complete a house through the process of "design". Various factors such as, dweller needs, environmental conditions and the available resources as well as a few others provide the reasons as to why this careful planning process is required. Architecture is known as a "vessel holding life". This means the most important aspect of architecture is the lives of people. Architecture is built from the ground up, interacting with thesurroundings and affecting everything in those surroundings. Thus, it is important to foresee what these effects will be like, as the impact on and interaction with the surroundings will be great. As a result of this, spacial design is conducted to make, and locate, rooms as conveniently as possible, by function. There will be many different suggestions in this phase, in accordance with appropriate design principles and the principles of configuration. The last phase is to choose the building materials, architecture is implemented using various materials. To create better architecture, there has been endless experimentation and exploration of building material. It is important in architectural design to ask how to combine certain materials in certain ways. Likewise, designing architecture while thinking of the harmony between land and people, and the exploration and interpretation of materials, with an architect's aesthetic view is essential for completion.
Architectural theory
Architectural theory focuses on the idea of the "origin of architecture" while pinpointing the meaning of architectural classics, and explores the "power of architecture". Unlike other art architecture exists to create an environment that people can live in. That is why architectural theories must be able to be applied practically. Therefore, it is important to combine design and theory. Architectural theory studies architectural culture and technical values. Buildings contain human life within, therefore, the history of material and the spiritual culture of people are combined. This makes architecture, "art or science, to design and build anaesthetic and functional structure, or a structure built in accordance with this kind of principal". Architectural theory studies what architecture is, and on what spiritual and physical base it should be built on. Architectural theory explores architectural features based on people. There are unchanging architectural values despite ever changing times. Architectural theory thinks about architecture having more important values on the basis of the nature of human beings.
Architectural history
Architectural history aims to understand architecture better by reviewing past and present buildings. Society is constantly changing and these days seems to be changing drastically, it is important to comprehend building in a historical manner to keep the pace with today's fast changing society.
Architectural history is a study that will help our understanding. Architectural history is a study for the future.
Architectural history explores the entire architectural activities of humanity. Ultimately, no space that is completely new to us exists, and past experience is always a good reference for future creation.
Architecture is a concrete and practical study. Because architecture is the cultural product of society and belongs to the community where it is located, it is ideal to understand the society correctly to create good architecture. Therefore, the study of architectural history explores how Korea's architecture has developed, and it aims to show future guidance for Korean architecture by studying East Asian culture and the human civilization in which Korea belongs.

Architectural environment
Our BEST(Building Environment and Services Tech) laboratory’s goal is making BIM(Building Information Modeling), ECO-City and sustainable Green building planning expert to cope with international issues, such as the Kyoto Protocol, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. In this regard, We are performing national projects.
In urban areas, We study database, expert system, planning process to support ECO-City, Carbon-neutral City and Energy Self-sufficient City Planning. We make database for effective Eco-friendly urban planning through the latest technology, such as UCSS(Urban Climate Simulation System), RS data(Remote Sensing data), GIS(Geographic Information System).
In construction areas, We study Green building technology and plan to achieve Passive House, Energy Zero House and Energy Plus House though BIM(Building Information Modeling). We develop effective Green building planning method by analyzing the quantitative effect in computer simulation technology.
